International Students

Valley Christian Schools welcomes international students in our mission to provide a college preparatory education from an evangelical Christian worldview. Our goal is to equip students with the skills they need to flourish spiritually, excel academically, succeed in their careers, and thrive in human relationships.

Our international student candidates are exemplary in academic performance, proficient in English, and suited for a rigorous academic climate centered on the teachings of Christ.

Here are some of the things Valley Christian Schools provides to international students:

Student Advising
Our Academic Advisor guides the international student from enrollment through graduation. The advisor maintains frequent communication with students, their families, and teachers, monitoring the student’s progress and adjustment in a new culture.
University Counseling
Our counseling department supports international students in achieving their college admission goals. Counselors work individually with students, helping them choose the right schools and helping them apply. Valley Christian students have attended such prestigious universities as Harvard, Princeton, Scripps, George Washington University, The University of Southern California, University of California at Berkeley, and New York University.
English Language Learner Instruction
A trained ELL instructor helps international students develop writing, reading comprehension, listening, and speaking skills as appropriate.Students with advanced skills are placed in an appropriate English course from our general curriculum. Throughout Valley Christian Schools, students are immersed in English throughout the school day. All general courses (with the exception of non-English language courses) are taught entirely in English.
International students from a wide range of ethnicities and cultures are welcomed into our community of students, teachers and faculty. International students represent 9-10 percent of the student body.
Student Life Opportunities
International students are encouraged to balance academics by participating in our various clubs, student government, field trips, performing arts, social events and sports teams (volleyball, baseball, basketball, softball, swimming, track and field, tennis, football and soccer).
Applications for the 2017-2018 school year are now available for Middle School (grades 6-8). All International Students are required to submit an application through WAnet. Click here to apply!
